As a proud breeder and lover of Goldendoodles here at KZ Doodles, we know just how vital it is to keep your furry friend both physically active and mentally stimulated. Not only does regular activity ensure your Goldendoodle stays healthy, but it also keeps them from becoming bored and developing destructive behaviors. Whether it’s the sunny days of summer or the cool breezes of winter, there’s always something fun you can do with your pet. Here are some of our favorite activities that are perfect for keeping your healthy Goldendoodle active and happy throughout the year!

Spring: The Great Outdoors Awaits

Spring is a fantastic time to start new adventures after the long winter. The mild weather and blooming nature make it perfect for outdoor activities. Why not try hiking? Goldendoodles are known for their stamina and love of exploration. Find a pet-friendly trail and let your doodle sniff and explore. Remember to keep them leashed where required, and always check for ticks after your adventure.

Summer: Water Fun

Goldendoodles often love water, making summer an excellent time for some splashing fun. Whether it’s a trip to the beach, a day by the lake, or just running through a sprinkler in your backyard, water activities are a wonderful way to cool off and play. Always ensure your doodle is safe around water, especially if swimming in deep or open water. Consider a doggy life vest if you’ll be on a boat or in deep water.

Autumn: Leaf-Pile Leaping

Autumn’s crisp air and falling leaves offer a perfect playground for a curious Goldendoodle. Rake up a big pile of leaves (a great way to get your yard work done!) and let your doodle jump in. It’s fun, and the rustling sounds and flying leaves provide excellent sensory stimulation. Plus, it’s a great photo op!

Winter: Snow Adventures

If you live in a region where it snows, your healthy Goldendoodle will likely love the chance to romp around in the chilly powder. Snowball fetch can be a delightful game—make a snowball, throw it, and watch your doodle bound through the snow to chase it. Just make sure to keep your dog warm with a coat if needed and always dry them off well when they come inside.

Year-Round Activities: Indoors and Out

Not every day is perfect for outdoor activities, but keeping your Goldendoodle active is still possible:

  • Interactive Toys: Invest in puzzle toys that challenge their minds and keep them engaged.
  • Obedience Training: Regular training sessions not only reinforce good behavior but also provide mental stimulation.
  • Playdates: Organize meetings with other dogs. Social interaction is excellent for your doodle’s mental health and social skills.

At KZ Doodles, we believe that a healthy Goldendoodle is a happy Goldendoodle. By keeping your doodle engaged with activities suited to each season, you’ll ensure they remain fit, healthy, and, most importantly, part of the family. So, what’s your next adventure going to be?
